Martha Labadie grew up in Vancouver. She has a degree from UBC, and a diploma in drawing from St. Martin's Art College in London, England.

Her drawings record a moment in time and space. She draws ' en plein air ', looking to capture the essence of a scene. May you enjoy the visual story of a monent of history captured.

She really enjoys drawing. She loves to sit in front of a building or a landscape and capture the very essence of the scene. And then to let the work sit for several weeks at a time and then go back to it and see how it has taken on a character of its own. How does that happen? That is the mystery.

About ten years ago, She decided that she would work part time and the rest of the time she would devote to drawing. She does enjoy drawing character homes, so she did some work for the New Westminster Heritage Society. She also have done house portraits for many people.

Mostly, She heads out with her pen and pencil and see what she can find that delights mher eye and she puts it on paper.
